Brethren,
Reflecting on the past 20 months as your Senior Warden, I started to reflect on what I actually say during the opening and long closing of our communications. One of the major things that stands out is the phrase regarding harmony emphasizing that unity, cooperation, and a lack of conflict are crucial for any organization's success and longevity. ALL of us being on the Level, this concept is central to Freemasonry, where the ability of our members to work together with different perspectives or inter pretations in a respectful and harmonious manner is seen as fundamental to our mission. For a Masonic lodge, fostering this harmony is considered vital for its effectiveness and the personal growth of its members.
Some key aspects of the Statement as I see it:
MUniversal Principle: The statement suggests that harmony is not just beneficial but essential for the strength and stability of any community or institution.
MOrganizational Strength: Harmony enables people to work together effectively, share ideas, and achieve common goals, leading to greater success and resilience for the society.
MMasonic Context: The phrase emphasizes the significance of harmony within Freemasonry, an organization that draws members from diverse backgrounds but strives for unity and brotherhood.
MPractical Application: In Masonic lodges, this means creating an atmosphere where differences of opinion are welcomed and discussed respectfully, but divisive topics like politics and religion are avoided.
MDecisions, once made, are honored, and the focus remains on building unity and supporting each other.
MPersonal Growth: The practice of maintaining harmony is seen as a way to cultivate virtues like openmindedness and patience, thereby making good men better.
In essence, the phrase serves as a reminder of the importance of unity and mutual respect, both within Freemasonry and in the broader society, for achieving strength, stability, and progress.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, 10 January 2026 for our open Installation at our Lodge. The plan right now is a light brunch at 11:00 am with the Installation at High 12. The DDGM will be the Installing Officer, so I hope we have a great turn-out.
Once again, it takes the entire Lodge Team to be successful, so please don’t hesitate to provide any input to make OUR
Lodge better. If you would like to get in the Line or fill a chair for the upcoming year. Please let me know.
Fraternally,
Bruce Ferri, Senior Warden, bruce@ferricapital.com (559) 287-8332
