From the West - August 2025

Brethren, it’s hard to believe it’s already August – halfway through the Masonic year!

In the original Roman calendar, the month of August was called Sextilis. This was because it was the sixth month of the year. Later, after January and February were added to the calendar, it became the eighth month of the year. At the time the month had 29 days. When Julius Caesar created the Julian Calendar in 45 BC, two days were added giving the month 31 days. The month was later renamed Augustus in honor of the first emperor of Rome, Caesar Augustus.

As discussed in my last two articles, the WM asked that I use the next few Trestle Board articles to let you know my leadership style, vision, plan and philosophy for 2026. In June, I discussed my Leadership Style. Last month, I presented my Strategic Vision
and the “Five Pillars” to support that Vision.

In the next few months, I will be recommending Committees to take the lead on each one of the Five Pillars, with support from other committees. One example would be the Financial Strength pillar, whereby the Finance Committee would take lead with input from the Budget Committee and others for current and future income and expenditures. We look forward to your input and support as we continue to plan and execute these programs.

If you feel you could contribute your expertise on any committee, please let us know...we can always use your help, especially our newest Dual Members.

Once again, it takes the entire Lodge Team to be successful, so please don’t hesitate to provide any input to make OUR Lodge
better.

Fraternally,

Brother Bruce Ferri, Senior Warden, bruce@ferricapital.com (559) 287-8332
