Grand Master Ruling and Decision No. 1 (June 2024)
It is my Ruling and Decision that the proper attire for all Stated and Called Communications of the particular lodges shall be in accordance with the Masonic leadership Training Manual and Masonic Etiquette Book: Coat and tie is preferred, or at a bare minimum, long trousers, and a collared shirt. NO shorts, t-shirts, flip flops, or open-toe shoes or sandals without socks, as it is also required for attending Annual Grand Communications.
Attire of other recognized Allied and Appendent Orders are not proper to be worn in a Stated or Called Communication except that they may be used for honor guards in open installations. Attire of non-recognized groups, associations, clubs, etc., will not be allowed without exception.
